Packiyo uses Reorder Threshold and Reorder Quantity together to help you identify products that are running low and quickly determine how much inventory to reorder.
The Reorder Threshold is the stock level that determines when a product should appear on your reorder list.
When a product's total quantity on hand drops below the Reorder Threshold, the product becomes eligible to be flagged for reorder.
If a product has:
Reorder Threshold: 20
Total Quantity on Hand: 15
The product is below its threshold and is eligible to appear on the reorder list.
The Reorder Quantity determines how many units Packiyo suggests ordering when you create a purchase order for a product that has been flagged for reorder.
When you generate a purchase order from the reorder list, this value is automatically used to pre-fill the quantity on the purchase order line item.
If a product has:
Reorder Threshold: 20
Reorder Quantity: 50
Total Quantity on Hand: 15
The product is eligible for reorder because its stock has fallen below 20. When you create a purchase order from the reorder list, Packiyo will suggest ordering 50 units.
Packiyo checks the product's total quantity on hand against its Reorder Threshold.
If the quantity on hand is below the threshold, the product becomes eligible to appear on the reorder list.
When you create a purchase order from the reorder list, Packiyo uses the Reorder Quantity to pre-fill the quantity to order.
If you have not configured Reorder Threshold or Reorder Quantity for a product, the values default to 0.
A product will not appear on the reorder list if its Reorder Quantity is set to 0, even if its quantity on hand has fallen below the Reorder Threshold.
For a product to appear as a suggested reorder, make sure both fields are configured appropriately.
Reorder calculations currently look at the product's total quantity on hand across all warehouse locations combined.
Reorder Threshold is not evaluated separately for each warehouse.
This is different from Packiyo's backorder logic, which can account for inventory at individual warehouses.
You can configure Reorder Threshold and Reorder Quantity individually, in bulk, or through a product import.
Go to Products.
Open the product you want to update.
Edit the product.
Enter the desired values for:
Reorder Threshold
Reorder Quantity
Save your changes.
Go to Products.
Select the products you want to update.
Choose Bulk Edit.
Enter the desired Reorder Threshold and Reorder Quantity values.
Save your changes.
The values will be applied to the selected products.
For larger updates, you can also manage reorder settings through your product CSV.
The relevant fields are:
reorder_threshold
quantity_reorder
Export your product data, update these values in the CSV, and re-import the products using your normal product import process.
If you expect a product to appear on the reorder list but it does not, check the following:
Is the product's total quantity on hand below its Reorder Threshold?
Is the Reorder Threshold set to the intended value?
Is the Reorder Quantity greater than 0?
Are you looking at total inventory across all warehouses rather than inventory at only one location?
If Reorder Quantity is set to 0, the product will not appear as a suggested reorder even when its inventory is below the Reorder Threshold.
