Product Level Allow Partial Fulfillment Setting

Product Level Allow Partial Fulfillment Setting

At the product level, the Allow Partial Fulfillment setting allows an Admin user to determine the backorder behavior for any orders containing that product, when there are no more available units of that product/SKU, but orders for the product continue to be generated from a sales channel.  The default state for this setting will always be disabled.

Allow Partial Fulfillment Setting

Basic Behavior
  1. When this setting is enabled at the product level, if the product has orders that populate in the system when there is no available inventory to fulfill those orders (backordered), the system will automatically have the Allow Partial Order Condition flag enabled for those orders.  This allows those orders to be split between multiple shipments without needing to directly manage this setting on the order page or bulk order management.
Multiple Backordered Products
  1. When multiple products on an order are backordered, the system will check each product for the Allow Partial setting. If any backorderd products have the Allow Partial Fulfillment product setting disabled, the system will not allow the Allow Partial Order Condition to be enabled for that order. The order will be unavailable to pick or ship in the system.
  1. If multiple backordered products all have this setting enabled, the system will enable the Allow Partial Order Condition on the order.
    Alert
Please be aware that this could allow orders to ship in 3 or more shipments.
